The Village
It was another girls' night out today. We usually do this once a month, our schedules permitting. Last week was a premature one as a couple of our other friends joined us and had been wanting to go out for quite sometime. As planned a month ago, we were to see "The Village". Yes, I usually go see movies like these on opening night but this is another exception and so I had to wait. The wait was worth it! Great movie! I highly recommend this movie.
One of my friends, P, who used to love horror/scary/suspense movies had developed a fear of these after having a couple of kids. In fact, she had a bad dream the night before and was deeply bothered by the thought of watching a scary movie today that I was almost sure we'll end up watching something else tonight. However, by the end of the day and by some leap of faith, she decided to go for it.
I am usually the scaredy cat when it comes to this sort of movies but one of us has to be strong for the other. Movie starts and with squinting eyes on certain premonitory scenes, then we find out we were in fact seeing a romantice/love story! Ron Howard's daughter was phenominal, those eyes, they are just so darn expressive. That's all I'm gonna say--you go watch it!
